In the previous two episodes it was established that Tanjiro is now a lot stronger than he was last season. We have two very strong Hashiras in the village and Nezuko seems to be in control of her power a lot better without falling into rage and then there is Genya as well who probably will play a role and isn't just there as cannon fodder. And then Haganezuka is buff for some reason and they have some kind of special sword from 300 years ago. They would not show this sword and make a big deal out of it if its not going to play a key role later on. Its probably going to be a crazy arc, the fight already starts at episode 3 so this will probably a fight over many episodes I am guessing.

The sword is just a good quality nichirin, and yes, a heirloom with huge symbolic value, the power to do something with it rests only with the wielder, though, it's not imbued with anything special, just forged from the same ore all nichirins are made of, with a high level of craftsmanship.

I wouldn't say weaker, since we haven't seen them in action yet. Give them time to act, looks can be deceiving. I'm sure they weren't appointed as Hashiras based on looks.

Pretty sure it's how the levels work, their opponents here are just a lot stronger than what we saw previously. Remember, now the main Demons are the upper 6 already.

Don't let looks deceive you, Mitsuri the Love Hashira is crazy strong.

Not at all weaker, just have different skills and swordsmanship style(people should get over linear rankings, in this series things are not straightforward when it comes to power and skill). And as Tengen said last arc, the youngest is the prodigy of the whole hashira lineup. The rest have muscle bulk, height, age and experience on him, but he's the genius.

Did he teach Tanjiro's ansestors or something? If so, why?

Because Sumiyoshi managed to scold some sense and hope into him after his depressed statement at the end of Tanjiro's dream(one day we'll see the rest of the memory) and his wife and daughter beg to see his "beautiful dance"(they dubbed it a dance, even though they knew it was a swordsmanship style) one last time. He showed all of them all his forms, one right after another("there's a way to breathe that will let you dance without ever stopping") and gave Sumiyoshi his earrings as a sign of permanent parting...Sumiyoshi also promissed to safeguard and pass the SB on till the day it will truly get the chance to fulfill its meaning. He passed it on, along with the earrings and something else he must've noticed(Tanjuro taught Tanjiro that a few days before dying)...and the rest is history. Since they were kinda secretive about what the SB truly was, it eventually got misinterpreted as a ritual dance, like Suyako, Tanjiro and Nezuko ancestress dubbed it. That misinterpretation technically protected both the style and the Kamados up till Muzan's fateful "visit".

you remember the scene when tanjiro's dad dancing in the snow? yet the ground arround him wasnt snowy, but more dirt, that dance really make the body stronger and heating surrounding area, like the guy before me say, they disguised the sun breathing, thats why that dance has been passed down till tanjiro

iirc, Tanjiro's ancestor didn't learn from Yoriichi but he instead replicate the technique "Sun Breathing" under the disguise of "Hinokami Kagura". It has been passed down to the Kamados and being kept in secret so that Muzan would not find out and kill the clan, since it has the ability to kill Muzan and he was already traumatized by it.

The answer is yes. But it is shown later in the manga. Sorry, I don't remember why 😅
